On Tuesday, millions of Americans went to the polls for federal, state and local elections. As official results are confirmed, Tennesseans across the state are learning who their newly elected representatives are.
In an effort to keep members, leaders and industry colleagues informed, the Tennessee Medical Association (TMA) is analyzing outcomes of this year's election. TMA's Advocacy Division will spend the coming weeks gaining an in-depth understanding of newly elected representatives and leaders. This information will be compiled into an official election guide and made available to those who donate to TMA's Political Action Committee (PAC).
TMA PAC is the non-partisan, independent political action committee established by the Tennessee Medical Association aimed at the election and retention of pro-medicine candidates. The TMA PAC Board is responsible for reviewing and approving campaign contributions with advice from TMA lobbyists regarding how legislators vote on Capitol Hill and whether they are supportive of physician healthcare issues. Donations to TMA PAC directly influence the election of legislators who are friendly to medicine.
Members of the TMA PAC receive a complimentary digital copy of TMA's Election Guide. The guide provides a summary of the election, TMA's campaign activity and information on TMA member candidates as well as federal races in relation to Tennessee. This valuable resource gives insight into what the election means for physicians and the mission of TMA.
To donate to the TMA PAC and receive TMA's Election Guide in a few weeks, visit tnmed.org/tma-pac. Your donation will go far in ensuring TMA finds continued success in supporting legislators who fight for physicians.
